Not only are they failing to support someone in a really tough job but they're inevitably creating a less than ideal situation for the children who would no doubt be better served if their teacher, say, knew about that the lock down was a drill. Grrrr.... and ((( hugs )))Larkshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01782254001145914109noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3986768514143017523.post-1661603883182681632013-05-22T06:48:48.787-07:002013-05-22T06:48:48.787-07:00I don't think you're giving yourself enoug...I don't think you're giving yourself enough credit. In the third grade we had our teacher leave us 3/4 of the way through the year. Our sub cam in and we (I am still friends with many of my classmates) still talk about our sub from time to time. She made such a huge impression on us in such a short amount of time. She was wonderful! Don't underestimate the impact you have on these kids!Your Doctor's Wifehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18010888083503743747noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3986768514143017523.post-54145152545445185742013-05-21T21:38:17.824-07:002013-05-21T21:38:17.824-07:00That sounds like an awful situation. It was hard to feel like a part of the staff knowing I would never see the kids or coworkers again. Not all schools were like that, but some of the situations made me hate going to work. I could definitely feel your pain in this post. <br />I hope something better comes along for you. There's a line "One day we'll all be ghosts, tripping around in somebody else's house". It sounds like you lived that.
